High Bridge Middle School teams play against middle schools that send to Voorhees and North Hunterdon High School as well as other Hunterdon County middle schools. The program at HBMS is developed to send students to high school with an understanding of the skills necessary for 9th-grade competition. High Bridge Middle School’s broader goal is to help all of our athletes develop important life skills such as cooperation and teamwork, motivation, self-discipline, enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

The following sports are available to students in grades five through eight:  

  • Cross Country
  • Girls Volleyball
  • Boys and Girls Basketball
  • Cheerleading
  • Girls Softball
  • Boys Baseball

1. In order to participate in athletics at High Bridge Middle School each student must have a current physical (within one calendar year). It is required that the examining physician fill out the three-page NJDOE Physical Form. The form is emailed to all parents and an additional copy is located below.

Spring 2023/24 update- Complete NJDOE Sports Physical Forms are due to the Middle School by Friday, March 1st.

Completed physicals must have:
1. Your child's name on each page.
2. Your signature on the first page.
3.  The doctor's (MD,DO, APN) written signature on the last two pages.
4. The doctor's office stamp in the space provided on page 4.
5. The entire exam completed including the eye screening. Or the eye doctor's report if your doctor writes "see eye doctor, or referred"
6. Orders for the 2023-2024 school year for emergency medication at school such as an asthma inhaler or epi-pen for severe allergies.  A doctor's note is requested if your child had this at school last year and it is discontinued this year.  

Once the school has the form, the school doctor must review it. 

If the student has a current physical form and wants to participate in an additional sport they do not need another physical (provided their last physical will remain valid for the entire time they will be playing). 
 

2. Additionally, parents/guardians must complete an   NJDOE Health History form and Sports Participation form in the Genesis Parent Portal under forms.  
 

ALL CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS WILL BE POSTED ON THE ACTIVITY SCHEDULER LINK (rSchooltoday).

On this page, you will be able to download the app for your phone and also sign up for the Notify Me link to be able to receive emails or text messages about any cancellations or changes to the schedule during the year.
