High Bridge Middle School teams play against middle schools that send to Voorhees and North Hunterdon High School as well as other Hunterdon County middle schools. The program at HBMS is developed to send students to high school with an understanding of the skills necessary for 9th-grade competition. High Bridge Middle School’s broader goal is to help all of our athletes develop important life skills such as cooperation and teamwork, motivation, self-discipline, enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

The following sports are available to students in grades five through eight:

  • Cross Country
  • Girls Volleyball
  • Boys and Girls Basketball
  • Cheerleading
  • Girls Softball
  • Boys Baseball

Fall 2024/25 Season

The High Bridge Middle School offers two sports for the Fall season for students in grades 5-8, Cross-Country and Girls Volleyball.  For a student to participate in Middle School sports you must complete the following.

As of July 1, 2024, there is a new NJDOE Sports Physical Forms and Preparticipation Physical Evaluation Medical Eligibility Form. You must bring the forms to your physician when your child receives their physical.  The doctor will complete the forms and keep the NJDOE Physical Forms in their records and will give you the new Preparticipation Form to return to the school nurse to be kept in your child's health folder.   The new Preparticipation Physical Evaluation Medical Eligibility Form is due by Thursday, August 15th.

You must also complete an NJDOE Health History form and Sports Participation form in the Genesis Parent Portal under the forms.  The portal is closed for summer maintenance, we will send out an email when the portal is open so you can complete the forms.

Orders for the 2024-2025 school year for emergency medication at school such as an asthma inhaler or epi-pen for severe allergies.  A doctor's note is requested if your child had this at school last year and it is discontinued this year.

Once the school has the form, the school doctor must review it.

If the student has a current physical form and wants to participate in an additional sport they do not need another physical (provided their last physical will remain valid for the entire time they will be playing).
